There are over 116,500 homeless individuals in Los Angeles County, appronximatly, 57,000 of those people are unsheltered. California currently has the highest number in homeless cases, at one-fifth of the total homeless population in the United States. Many of L.A. County's unsheltered homeless are exposed to extremely inhumane conditions, they deal with things like violence, mental health issues, unsanitary living conditions, sexual trauma, limited access to health care, no food, and severe weather, etc. All of these things negatively impact our community. It's a major ripple effect that affects all of us.

As a proud Angelino, born and raised, I have personally seen the decline of the city's aesthetic. Being proactive in this problem will not only help in the welfare and decline of the homeless population, it will also help get our city back to being more clean and safe. It pisses me off the hear a New Yorker talk about how dirty our city is. Like come on, you're from freaking New York! (rolls eyes)
