The Issue

Petition to Support School Bus Drivers in Canada

School bus drivers in Canada play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children. Every day, they are responsible for transporting and supervising dozens—sometimes up to 100—students, a duty that requires constant attention, care, and accountability.

Despite the significant responsibility they carry, many school bus drivers earn as little as $350 per week. This level of compensation is not reflective of the importance of their work and is insufficient to support a basic standard of living. As a result, many drivers are forced to face ongoing financial hardship.

We call on the government to recognize the essential nature of this profession and take immediate action to improve wages and working conditions. Providing fair, full-time salaries and adequate support is not only a matter of economic justice but also an investment in the safety and stability of our education system.
