The recent attack on a Security Forces vehicle in the Kacha Pakka area of Hangu has once again highlighted the serious risks faced by personnel operating in high-risk areas. Eight personnel were martyred in the incident. 

Repeated incidents involving attacks on military and security vehicles demonstrate the urgent need to strengthen protection for personnel travelling and operating in vulnerable areas.

We call upon the relevant authorities and military leadership to provide personnel deployed in high-risk areas with properly armored, ballistic-resistant and blast-protected vehicles capable of providing enhanced protection against small-arms fire, explosive attacks and other battlefield threats.

We urge the authorities to review existing vehicle protection measures and ensure that personnel operating in high-risk areas have access to vehicles that meet the level of protection required by the threats they face.
