Animals are beyond the title as pets — they bring us companionship, love and comfort. A dog is a man's best friend who's loyal, a cat is an elegant and independent companion, and so on. Yet, we still fail to repay them for their compassion, they're just innocent animals who seek for the same attention we do, they don't have initial harmful intentions, they only crave to live life with content. They rely on nature to survive but they don't disrupt it unlike us humans. They are vulnerable and defenseless against the world, especially against what a person might do to them. They experience hunger, fear, affection, sadness or joy just like us, except they don't have the ability to voice out their concerns to defend themselves, they go through agony alone. 

Unfortunately, the number of animals who are unwanted and just live or wander around the streets are countless, they have been abandoned, lost, and some were even born in that environment. Because of this, they lack sources of basic needs which leads to them being malnourished, they are more prone to diseases, and their bodies gather parasites and bacteria. They also get injured, often getting into accidents at crashes and traffic, getting in fights with other animals, and abuse from humans. Without a shelter, they experience the heat way worse than us, imagine what they go through without a home if even us humans with one already complain about the weather. Every single day they live at risk and with fear of threats. Those animals living on the streets not only has severe consequences for themselves, but also us humans are greatly affected, because living they can carry diseases that can be passed onto us. Plus, we also lack control of their breeding which leads to overpopulation and scarcity of resources that will greatly affect us as well. Animals are a part of our natural environment, and our environment affects us the same way we affect it.

Therefore, let us make a difference and increase the number of shelters in our areas. We must start now before it's too late, helping animals now can make a significant improvement in their lives. Let us organize communities and collaborate with authorities to establish control, we must implement animal rescues, supply them sufficient basic needs like food and water, and veterinary care must be provided, initiate donations for the shelters, and report spotted strays to bring into the shelter. Gathered animals should be put up for adoption to belong in a loving home.

Cease the ignorance and bring peace to their lives. Put an end to this mistreatment by giving the only thing an animal would need or want; they could never ask for too much.
