From: Victims & civil society of South Punjab, Pakistan

We, the undersigned, suffering and surviving from the devastating floods that have ravaged South Punjab in 2022 and again in 2025, raise this petition with both grief and resolve. We appeal for your immediate, sustained and generous support. We appeal not only for relief, but for justice and restoration. South Punjab again hit with massive flooding 1,112 villages inundated, over 1,174,870 people directly affected. Agricultural land destroyed over 1,249,328 acres of crops lost. Relief camps, medical camps, evacuation efforts are underway. But they are overwhelmed.

Twice the people of South Punjab have faced the wrath of nature's fury, and twice we have been left to grapple with the aftermath almost on our own. These catastrophic floods have not just washed away our homes and livelihoods, but also our hopes and dreams for a secure future. Comprehensive support from the government and international bodies has been minimal and sporadic at best.

We urgently call upon the government, international aid organizations, and compassionate individuals worldwide to heed this call for action. It's time to ensure not only short-term relief but long-term rehabilitation strategies. While emergency aid such as food, clean water, and medical supplies is immediately required, we also need resilient infrastructure, effective flood management systems, and strong healthcare support to prevent future tragedies.

Statistics reveal that South Punjab's infrastructure remains one of the most vulnerable to flooding in the region. Without significant investment in flood defenses and sustainable urban planning, the cycle of destruction and desperation will only continue. Additionally, the health systems are overwhelmed by the magnitude of needs during such natural disasters, making the situation even more dire for the affected communities.

In light of these pressing issues, we propose:
1. Immediate allocation and disbursement of emergency relief funds focusing on basic needs of the affected population.
2. Investment in rebuilding resilient infrastructure, including flood defenses and better drainage systems.
3. Establishment of a dedicated task force to design and implement sustainable urban planning.
4. Strengthening of local health facilities with resources and personnel to manage both immediate medical emergencies and long-term health impacts resulting from flood conditions.

5. Support Livelihoods & Agriculture

6. Focus on Vulnerable Groups

The road to recovery is long, but with your support, we can pave the way toward not only rebuilding our communities but also fortifying them against future adversities. Let us transform our collective grief into collective action and ensure a safer, more resilient South Punjab.

We urge you to stand with us in solidarity and sign this petition to demand the justice and restoration that South Punjab desperately needs. We plead to the conscience of the global community: your help is indispensable.

We seek not charity but solidarity. The world must not wait until South Punjab becomes a forgotten catastrophe.   Will you stand with us ?
