I am deeply moved by the plight of individuals who cannot afford basic necessities like food, water, and most importantly, a home. Every day, I see people struggling to meet these basic needs, forcing them to live on the streets; this is a situation that we can and should change. I propose that the government facilitate provision of affordable houses for all homeless individuals while they get back on their feet.

Homelessness is a widespread issue. It is estimated that on any given night, over half a million people experience homelessness in the United States alone (National Alliance to End Homelessness). The lack of a stable home environment further intensifies barriers to employment, mental health, and overall wellbeing. We believe everyone deserves a chance to start anew; having a safe, secure place to live is the first step towards that path.

Our Government, with its vast resources, should be responsible for providing the foundation for their transformation - a small, affordable home until they can find a permanent solution. This will not only reduce homelessness rates but also enhance public health and safety.
