We, the Jewish people of Charlotte, are dismayed and sickened by Charlotte Observer’s coverage of the Hamas’ War of Annihilation against the Jewish people.

Every article so far (at best) pushes moral equivalency between the actions of Hamas and Israel Defense Force (IDF).

Hamas, designated by US Government as a terrorist organization, much as ISIS or Al-Qaeda, came into the homes of unarmed Israeli civilians and (if the civilians were lucky) just shot them point blank. Women were raped. Over 40 babies were murdered, many of them beheaded. Other children were burned alive. Over a 1,000 civilians were murdered, several thousands wounded, hundreds, mostly women and children, were taken hostage.

IDF shoots at Hamas military targets in Gaza – which are purposefully placed near residential areas to maximize civilian casualties for propaganda purposes. Israel warns the civilians to flee ahead of these actions. In other words, Israel takes the most humane military approach possible under the circumstances. Hamas behaves in ways that is indistinguishable from actions of SS personnel in Nazi Extermination Camps.

Yet every article in the Observer reeks of moral equivalency. It’s in the Sunday’s repost of the Washington Post story under the headline “Israel formally declares war as hundreds die on BOTH sides”. It’s in the AP story on Monday under the headline “Israel pounds Gaza neighborhoods as people scramble for safety in sealed-off territory”. It’s in ALL the coverage. And it’s impossible to imagine how such hateful content can be written (or printed) by anyone who doesn’t (at least) sympathize with Hamas stated aim of total extermination of Jews – men, women, and children.

Hamas exterminates Jewish civilians point blank. Gaza civilians are dying because terrorist bases and rocket launchers are next to civilian homes.

That is a difference that no moral human being can fail to understand. If you claim that this difference is not significant, then you support the stated aim of Hamas to finish what Hitler started.

 We demand that Charlotte Observer retract and apologize for headlines and stories demeaning the murdered Jews.
