The lobbyists might think they've won, but we know the truth: Wippa only pushed 36months for a quick cash grab and attention. In a 2024 opinion piece, professors Megan Moreno and Jenny Radesky highlighted the need for nuanced policies, pointing out that focusing on age restrictions could distract from ensuring platforms follow proper guidelines for all users, regardless of age.

When the odds are against you, persevere. It always seems impossible—until it’s done. The HUA and their supporters believe they’ll 'end phone-based childhood' and 'free the anxious generation' (which is not only a huge exaggeration but also unfairly stereotypes young people as anxious because of technology). They couldn’t be more wrong.
