I want to thank every single person who has signed, shared, and supported this petition. Your words, messages, and solidarity have given me strength through one of the hardest chapters of my life.
Since the media coverage earlier this year, many people have asked if my children and I are now safe. But the truth is, our fight for protection is still ongoing.
The violence that occurred in March 2023 was the final and most brutal assault in a long pattern of abuse. It left me with a head injury in front of my three year old twins and changed our lives forever.
NSW Police were supportive of extending the AVO. They even offered to make it indefinite, which would have finally given my children and i long term peace. But because police said they could not “locate” the perpetrator, even after contacting him directly, the process was delayed.
Since then, the perpetrator has chosen to contest the AVO, leading to multiple adjournments, the last one being yesterday. Today, I received a call from WDVCAS informing me that the matter has now been listed for a hearing in April 2026. That means I will be subpoenaed to attend court and give evidence on why I need the AVO!
Since my last update, I have been really struggling with feelings of helplessness, frustration, and exhaustion. The protection that was promised, and that should have been automatic given the history, was never granted. It is incredibly hard to rebuild your life while constantly looking over your shoulder, waiting for the system to finally do what it said it would.
I am sharing this because this is the reality for so many women in Australia right now. If this is happening to me, with police support, public attention, and a documented history of violence, what is happening to the women who have none of that?
Every delay, every loophole, and every ignored red flag puts more women and children at risk.
I will keep fighting, not just for my family but for every survivor who is still being failed. Please continue to sign and share this petition. Your support is helping us push for real reform, accountability, and protection that actually lasts.
