I really appreciate everyone’s support for protecting the snake den near Gimli.

Here are some additional steps you can take as November 19 approaches, when Mayor and Council will consider this matter.

First, share the petition far and wide. If you have already shared, please share again!

It would also be just great if you could take a moment to contact the Mayor and Council directly by email or even phone. The more emails or phone calls they get, the better.

Here is sample wording for what you could say, but do put your message in your own words:

"I want the vulnerable garter snake den on land belonging to the Gimli RM to be protected. I support the proposal for a permanent barricade to stop off-road vehicles from accessing this den. Please say yes to this on November 19 when it comes before council for consideration."

Feel free to add in more details if you wish. Something about why you are personally concerned about this or something about your connection to Gimli can be compelling. But just a couple of brief sentences is good.

And of course sign it with your name.
