Recently, the famous Japanese seiyuu Kenjiro Tsuda, known for his roles in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Chainsaw Man, reportedly took legal action after his voice was reproduced by artificial intelligence without his permission on platforms such as  TikTok. According to reports, numerous videos using an AI imitation of his voice were uploaded and monetized online.

But this issue does not concern Kenjiro Tsuda alone. It highlights a growing global problem affecting voice actors, actors, singers, and artists whose voices are an essential part of their identity and profession.

Today, artificial intelligence technologies can clone a voice within seconds, often without consent. These practices directly threaten artists’ rights, their ability to make a living from their work, and the authenticity of human performances. Similar incidents have already sparked concern and outrage among artistic communities worldwide.

A voice is not just an audio file. It is an identity, an emotion, years of work, and talent.

We call on digital platforms, AI companies, and international organizations to legally recognize artists’ ownership of their voices and to establish:

• protections against unauthorized voice cloning;
• penalties for abuses involving AI-generated voices;
• and mandatory consent from artists before any use of their voice.

If we do not act today, more artists will face the same abuses tomorrow.

Récemment, le célèbre seiyuu japonais Kenjiro Tsuda, connu pour ses rôles dans Jujutsu Kaisen, Yu-Gi-Oh! et Chainsaw Man, aurait engagé des poursuites judiciaires après que sa voix a été reproduite par intelligence artificielle sans son autorisation sur des plateformes comme TikTok. Selon plusieurs informations, de nombreuses vidéos utilisant une imitation IA de sa voix ont été mises en ligne et monétisées.

Mais ce problème ne concerne pas uniquement Kenjiro Tsuda. Il met en lumière un problème mondial grandissant touchant les doubleurs, acteurs, chanteurs et artistes dont la voix constitue une part essentielle de leur identité et de leur métier.

Aujourd’hui, les technologies d’intelligence artificielle peuvent cloner une voix en quelques secondes, souvent sans consentement. • ainsi que l’obligation d’obtenir le consentement des artistes avant toute utilisation de leur voix.

Si nous n’agissons pas aujourd’hui, davantage d’artistes subiront les mêmes abus demain.
