Every year, millions of drivers in the UK are trapped by private parking companies using aggressive, unfair tactics to issue penalty charges.
Many drivers are even being threatened with County Court Judgments (CCJs) — damaging their credit scores — over minor private parking disputes.

Drivers are often aware they've entered into a contract with private parking companies. In most other spheres of life, any contract you enter into must meet stringent requirements.

This is unacceptable. Private parking is not criminal activity, yet drivers are being financially crippled with little oversight or protection.

🚗 We demand action:

• Ban CCJs for unpaid private parking tickets — no one should suffer long-term financial harm over a disputed parking fine.
• Cap private parking charges — no more £100+ "fines" for short overstays or unclear signage.
• Enforce the Parking Code of Practice — including mandatory clear signage, grace periods, and fair appeals.
• End aggressive debt collection tactics against drivers.
• Create one clear standard for how private parking companies operate across the UK.

Currently, authorities — like councils, private parking companies, and enforcement agencies only need to prove that a letter was sent, not that it was received!

It should be mandated that PCNs that impact an individual’s rights or finances must be sent via signed-for or tracked delivery. Thousands of drivers never receive PCN/NtO letters due to change of address or vehicle destruction.
