In Saskatchewan, Alberta, and New Brunswick, laws have been introduced that restrict the trans youth rights. They have enacted a law the requires parental consent for students to use gender affirming names and pronouns at school. This bill causes more stress on trans youth who already suffer from depression related to family rejection, discrimination, inability to access gender affirming care. These anti-trans laws also affect the rise of suicides in the trans community as it promotes issues such as misgendering.
