Update on Our Petition to Protect Toronto’s Islands and Airport

Friends, I want to start by saying a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has taken the time to sign, share, and support our petition. Your voices are being heard — and together, we’ve already gathered over 2,000 signatures. That’s an incredible milestone, but we still have a long way to go before we can bring this to the media and then to the government.

I also want to clarify something important: donations are not mandatory, and they do not go to me personally. Any funds contributed through Change.org go directly to their platform to help promote and advertise our petition, ensuring it reaches more people and gains stronger public support.

This fight is bigger than just Billy Bishop Airport. Doug Ford’s government has already taken control of large portions of the Toronto Islands, including Hanlan’s Point Beach and other cherished public spaces — land that rightfully belongs to the city and its people. This is not just about an airport; it’s about protecting Toronto’s natural heritage and public access to our waterfront.

Please keep sharing the petition widely — with friends, family, and community groups. Every signature counts, and every share helps amplify our message. The more awareness we build, the harder it becomes for this takeover to continue unchecked.
