The children have reportedly been seen in public without clothing or shoes, even in cold weather, putting their health and safety in grave danger. Witnesses describe the older child crawling on the ground and eating food off the floor—heartbreaking signs of deep neglect.

Despite widespread concern, no official response has been issued. The case has reportedly been brought to the attention of UNICEF China, yet no public statement or visible action has been made by local authorities.

Even more troubling, online posts and videos about the case are being censored, preventing citizens from sharing information or demanding help. This raises fears that this tragedy may be only the tip of an iceberg—and that many other children in similar situations remain unseen and unprotected.
