I have always believed that nature is our most precious resource. It has the power to inspire, nurture, and sustain us. However, I have grown increasingly disheartened by the incapacity of governments to effectively manage the nature protection agenda. Time and again, we witness ambitious promises yield little more than political rhetoric, while our forests, rivers, and wildlife suffer the consequences.

This is why I am calling on all of us to take action and protect the planet, meter x meter. Let's bring this global challenge back to the human scale, 1 m2. A square meter is easy to grasp. It's literally right there, in front of our feet. By investing in our natural habitats on a m2 level, we can create massive positive impact together, and receive an infinite return. 

Our governments and institutions may falter, but as individuals, we have the power to collaborate and show them the way. It's time to engage in a grassroots movement and start #MissionEarth. Imagine the impact we could have if every citizen protected only 1 m2 of nature every month. That's 8,000,000,000 m2 a month, or almost 100,000,000,000 m2 a year. This is equivalent to protecting an area the size of Iceland annually. 

The exact same area of forest the United Nations report the world is losing each year due to unsustainable practices: 100 billion m2. We cannot afford to sit idly by as these precious resources disappear. Statistics like these highlight the urgent need for us to step up and protect nature on a personal and community level.
