Protect the North Atlantic Right Whale

The Issue

The North Atlantic Right Whale is not the "Right" whale to go extinct.

2026 has given a grand opening to a fresh season for the critically endangered North Atlantic Right Whale. It hasn't taken much for them to be stripped of their rights and long-lasting protections that have scientifically been proven to provide significant aid towards recovery in their population, which actively dwindles at an estimate below 400 remaining. The U.S. Government alongside the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Marine Fisheries Service made an announcement in March that gave advanced notice to alert the public of their idea to scrap Vessel Speed Limits from 2008.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration made public studies which showed and proved that these speed limits being implemented causes significant increase in the already suffering population, it is a disservice and an injustice to enable the few protections these whales have, to be taken from them.

Given the state of affairs in governments, the most recent action taken has been a resort to a GoFundMe to help fund research for these whales, it's a bare minimum that awareness is given to these whales so that we can protect, study and conserve them. By signing off on this campaign and petition, you are showing your support for a species on the brink of realistic extinction, and giving support to the people actively aiming to bring awareness to them. There is a clock ticking down, and signing gives more time to the scientists, researchers, and people putting their time and energy into saving this species.

Please, also take the time to look into the GoFundMe to support and donate to the Marineland Right Whale Project! For more information, please go to marinelandrightwhale.org
