The Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship has helped over 140,000 Nevada students attend college since it was created in 1999. For more than two decades, it’s rewarded hard-working students with the opportunity to afford higher education without leaving the state.

But now, its future is uncertain.

The scholarship is funded through an account that has no dedicated, long-term funding source. As college costs rise and more students enroll, that account is shrinking—and no one has guaranteed what comes next.

Without action, future Nevada students could lose this scholarship altogether.

We’re calling on Nevada lawmakers and the State Treasurer’s Office to take steps to protect and stabilize the Millennium Scholarship fund.

That means committing to a sustainable source of funding and making sure students can count on this support not just next year, but ten years from now.

This scholarship has changed lives across the state. It’s helped families afford college, kept students in-state, and strengthened Nevada’s future workforce.

But a promise is only a promise if it lasts.
