TONIGHT!!!
Standing Strong With Ferris World Ball
Mt. Zion AME Church | White Plains | NY
At 6:00 PM, the vibrations of legacy, commitment, love, authenticity, and purpose will rise together at Mt. Hope AME Zion in White Plains as the community unites in support of Ferris World Ball.
For more than four decades, Ferris World Ball has stood as more than a tournament — it is a cultural institution, a sanctuary of community, and a beacon of resilience that has uplifted countless lives across generations. It represents not just competition, but the fellowship, discipline, and dignity that sport brings to a people determined to thrive in the face of adversity.
Today, we face an orchestrated attempt to diminish its legacy. Naysayers and political games disguised as media spin seek to distort the truth — but the truth is undeniable: there was no violence, no disorder, and no threat within Ferris World Ball. The only “threat” perceived was the power of people of color gathering, celebrating, and building community together.
This gathering is our response.
We call upon:
The Media — to report with integrity and accuracy, and not to weaponize stereotypes against communities of color.
Elected Officials & Policy Makers — to stand on the side of truth, history, and the people you serve, rather than feeding narratives that erase community institutions.
The Community — to show up, stand up, and let your presence speak louder than lies.
Ferris World Ball has saved lives, opened doors, and preserved a legacy rooted in respect, discipline, and unity. This is not simply a call for defense — it is a call for affirmation.
We are here to say: Ferris World Ball is not a liability. It is a legacy. And we will not let it be erased.
When we stand together, our voices cannot be silenced. Our history cannot be rewritten. Our future cannot be stolen.
Join us.
