As we near the end of June, it is impossible to ignore that the Mütter has failed to acknowledge Pride month. In a time of such bigotry, misinformation and oppression, to neglect to even mention the history of LGBTQ contributions in medical history is a huge missed opportunity. It also displays an apathy toward the LGBTQ community, and further evidence that the leadership is abandoning the principles of the Mütter Museum and the College of Physicians. The Mütter could be providing insight into the history of transgender people, whose existence goes back centuries (first evidence goes back 4,500 years). Or about gender diversity in forensic science. Or the AIDS crisis and restrictions on blood donations (this could have been part of the erstwhile Dracula exhibit).
If the Mütter leadership was as interested in education and medical history as they claim, they would seize the opportunity to use the resources at their disposal to educate and uplift. Instead they are silent. No programming, no events, no posts.

They did make sure to congratulate their Executive Director, Kate Quinn, on her dubiously-deserved industry accolade. Their priorities have been made very clear.
