Our area has fought the re-zoning of Birkdale Village battle before and made our concerns about irresponsible development very clear.   The re-zoning was denied the last time because it failed to satisfy the requirements of the 2040 Plan, and it needs to be denied again.

If the re-zoning is granted, Jamestown proposes to break ground in 2027 with all improvements to be completed in 6-7 years.   This timeline will overlap with the phased opening of Birkdale Place retail, offices, and 250 apartments.  Worse, this will coincide with the DOT widening of Sam Furr Rd.  All of this new traffic, construction activity, and lane closures combined will create impossible traffic headaches not only for residents of Birkdale neighborhoods, but for every resident of Huntersville that relies on the Sam Furr corridor- the single largest east-west thoroughfare in all of Huntersville.

Whatever your personal concerns might be (density, timing, history of incomplete projects, traffic, parking, safety, crime, redundancy, access and egress, quality of life, property values, etc.), it is important that Town Officials hear a steady stream of concerns from across the Huntersville community since this re-zoning would impact everyone!
