We’ve just reached 200 signatures -thank you so much everyone!!
This isn’t just about one green or one square. It’s about protecting the character of the Garden Village, part of a really important movement in Welsh history inspired by the Garden City principles, where communities were intentionally designed around openness, shared space and quality of life.
Cadw’s own guidance is clear that any changes in conservation areas should be based on a proper understanding of what makes a place special, and that harm to its character should be kept to a minimum. That’s why so many people feel strongly about what’s been installed at Y Groes, and whether it reflects those principles in practice.
The support so far shows that this matters not just to those who live here, but to people who care about heritage, design and how we protect special places in Cymru!
If you’ve already signed, what you can do now is share it with one or two other people, whether they’re in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, or just care about conservation and preserving what makes places unique.
Every signature counts!
Diolch!
