A bit has been happening over the past couple of months. The Bellarine DAL decision will now be made by Lily D’Ambrosio, Minister for Environment and Climate Action. Initially we were expecting Richard Wynne to make the call, then his portfolio was given to Lizzie Blandthorn, and now the Bellarine DAL decision has been given to Lily to make.
The Combined Bellarine Community Associations and Protect the Bellarine organised a peaceful rally at Edwards Point Reserve at St Leonards, which was held this morning. Over 150 concerned Bellarine community members attended, with all townships represented we believe. It is hoped there will be media coverage in the coming days. 3 candidates for the upcoming state election plus Andy Meddick who is a member of the Legislative Council also attended.
Over 11,000 people have now signed petitions across the Bellarine. The St Leonards, Protect the Bellarine Protect St Leonards petition is now at 1448 signatures, tantalising close to 1500.
