Protect Students In Need

Protect Students In Need
The Issue
Stop senate bill 165 banning DEI programs in public schools. DEI does more than what meets the eye, and the JCPS Clothing Assistance Program is an example of this. Under Title Nine, schools that require uniforms must provide uniforms to students who cannot get them themselves. The Clothing Assistance Program (also known as C.A.P.) provides uniforms and more, helping students facing poverty, recovering from natural disasters, rebuilding after house fires, and settling down after a hasty relocation or evacuation. The C.A.P. program serves over six thousand students a year who might otherwise face bullying, discrimination, or be unable to attend school without support. This program would be banned if district 6 KY senator Lindsey Tichnor gets her way. Pushing this bill will harm over six thousand students and their families in ways we cannot begin to comprehend- punishing families all across Kentucky for their struggles. Please sign our petition to protect our school children and their families. Now is the time to act, before the bill progresses and good, hardworking families are harmed. Thank you.
