In the state of Missouri, reproductive freedom rights are under threat. This includes the right to access safe and legal abortion, as well as comprehensive sexual education and contraception. According to a 2019 report by the Guttmacher Institute, Missouri is one of six states with only one abortion clinic left. Additionally, in 2018, Missouri lawmakers passed a bill that bans abortions after eight weeks of pregnancy with no exceptions for cases of rape or incest. This petition calls on our elected officials to uphold and protect reproductive freedom rights for all individuals in Missouri. We believe that everyone should have the right to make decisions about their own bodies without interference from politicians or government legislation.
