On the 18th December (date TBC) Cabinet Portfolio-holder for Planning, Infrastructure and Transport, Councillor Nik Oakley and the Cabinet Portfolio-holder for Housing and Housing Development, Councillor Alan Matthews will accept our petition on behalf of the council.

We have collected over 3500 signatures (digital and hard copy) calling for the implementation of an IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4.

IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4 means sensible planning. Giving the planning office the tools to ensure a sensible housing mix.

IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4 means HMOs designed for the vulnerable are placed appropriately and close to the amenities they need.

IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4 supports an integrated community of people who are invested in Potters Bar.

IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4 means existing residents with close ties to Potters Bar are not forced out due to a shortage of affordable family housing.

We've been told REPEATEDLY that IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4 will be rejected by central government, what's not clear is WHY WOULD IT BE REJECTED?

IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4 means sensible planning in Potters Bar not the chaos residents are currently experiencing.

Support our petition submission on the 18th December write to Cllr Jeremy Newmark, your local and borough councillors and include customer.services@hertsmere.gov.uk so you get a reference number AND DEMAND IMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4.
