📍 The Library Drop-In Event is Happening Today

Planners are in town today in the drum area just outside the library (Tuesday, 11th August) from 12:00 to 19:00 to consult on the housing proposals.
Here are three quick, exciting updates on our campaign:
📈 1,000 SIGNATURES HIT!
Our online petition has officially smashed past 1,000 supporters! That means roughly 1 in 7 households in Penicuik has already backed the fight to protect our north-west green spaces. Thank you so much to everyone who has signed and shared so far.
🏛️ COMMUNITY COUNCIL ATTENDED
We attended the Penicuik and District Community Council meeting to voice our concerns. We directly challenged the lack of clear household notifications, demanding that every resident is meaningfully reached before the September 25 deadline.
🔍 WHAT TO DO TODAY AT THE LIBRARY:
Look at the maps: Locate sites R26 (Rullion Road), R27 (Silurian Road), and R25 (Dykes Road).
Pick up paper surveys: Grab physical forms for older neighbours or anyone not online.
Ask about infrastructure: Challenge planners face-to-face on the steep 1-in-10 flooding risks at Rullion Road and our max-capacity schools and GP surgeries.
⚠️ Crucial Reminder: We cannot rely on the council planners inside to log our comments. To make sure your voice is counted, you must follow up by sending a direct email to ldp@midlothian.gov.uk with your full name and postal address.
See you all at the library today. Let's protect Penicuik! 🛑
