Protect pedestrians on Beaconsfield Parade crossing

Protect pedestrians on Beaconsfield Parade crossing
The issue
Locals, families, kids and beachgoers are at risk of being hit by cars every time they cross Beaconsfield Parade from Kerferd Road (west side) at the designated pedestrian lights. The inadequate time allowed for pedestrians to walk across a six lane road before turning traffic is allowed to progress and the inadequate signage to warn turning drivers of pedestrians crossing (plus the frequent presence of fast cars and distracted drivers) is a potential tragedy waiting to happen. Cars frequently cut off pedestrians or are coming far too close to pedestrians before breaking, plus honking and yelling at pedestrians as they are unaware that there is a crossing light there. One day someone will be hit.
This problem can be fixed with only a small change by the responsible government agencies. Let's make that happen before an accident occurs, not after.
