🚨 Protect Papahānaumokuākea: Stop Industrial Fishing in Sacred Hawaiian Waters

One of the most sacred and ecologically rich marine areas on Earth is now in danger.

Papahānaumokuākea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Marine National Monument in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, is under threat. Commercial fishing lobbyists are pushing the U.S. government to roll back its protected status -putting over 7,000 species and Native Hawaiian stewardship at risk.

🪸 This is one of the last intact marine ecosystems still dominated by apex predators like sharks.
🐢 25% of the species found here exist nowhere else on the planet.
🌺 For Native Hawaiians, these waters hold deep cultural and spiritual meaning.

If protections are reversed, industrial fishing fleets will be allowed to exploit sacred waters, destroying coral reefs, wildlife habitats, and Indigenous sovereignty.

That NO rollback of protections be allowed
That Papahānaumokuākea remain permanently closed to commercial fishing
That the U.S. government, NOAA, and relevant councils respect Indigenous leadership and ecological science
