CITY TV: TCDSB meets to discuss code of conduct violations

The TCDSB trustee's voted against publicly condemning Del Grande's recent actions during a Special Board Meeting, on Monday night.

However, they did vote for changing how code of conduct complaints from the public are dealt with. Complaints will now be handled at open-door sessions of the 12-member board. Previously, they were aired at private meetings not open to the public.

Additionally, the trustee's opted to hire an Integrity Commissioner to help navigate future charges of misconduct against members, and a Parliamentarian to oversee decorum of board meetings.

These are great changes, however this doesn't address accountability for Del Grande's violations. In fact, at their recent Caucus meeting, Del Grande did not get nominated for Chair, but was elected into multiple positions of leadership, including Governance and Policy oversight.
