It has come to our attention that with these bans on non native they have also locked down shipping requirements to be extremely excessive. Once again this is unreasonable. Having a simple permit is one thing but they are expecting many pages of info from each breeder. It is crazy! We are now working to try and change the expectations for permits to ship! The scary part is if the permit is not in perfect order the state confiscate the spider and destroys them. That is an absolutely unacceptable reaction. Return the package do anything except that! This is causing many great breeders to not ship to Florida and that is simply unfair to owners here as it limits the options they have. Please help us continue to fight and change all of this non sense!
I was just able to get my hands on the actual permit and it is the excessive forms that they require all of us breeders here to have completed. They are long forms and what they do not tell you is there are several steps after the filling like assessments and specimen submission so it is absolutely so very much to do. Even working closely with the department of agriculture it took me a couple months to get it completed.
I am unable to upload the permit papers here but we do have a copy of them if there is anyone who needs or wants them.
