A win for Shasta County, the Sacramento River and the environment. Last night Sheriff Johnson announced a complete relocation of the proposed Correctional Facilities at 7251 Eastside Road. We thank everyone who signed this petition, shared it and educated people in our community about this issue. It takes a village and Shasta County showed up in opposition and our Sheriff listened. We will continue to try to fight for this 90 acres, as it is of environmental significance. The parcel includes wetlands, vernal pools, endangered species and 2 federally and state protected streams that run into the Sacramento River. Thank you for helping the River Ranch Neighborhood fight this over the last 9 months. Each of you are deeply appreciated. So let’s all celebrate! This a big win in Shasta County! WE DID IT!!!!
