Protect Our Pets: Investigate andDemand Accountability &Transparency from Cessna Hospital

The Issue

[Bengaluru, Karnataka, 12th July 2024] — I’m Aparna Taware, and I’m fighting for justice for my cat, Pixie, who tragically died due to alleged negligence at Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital, Domlur, Bengaluru.

I am starting this campaign because, despite giving ample time to Cessna Hospital  to address the issues and clarify any misunderstandings, they have only provided excuses and wasted my time. Initially, I hoped to resolve the matter privately to avoid any harm to their reputation, but it has become clear that this approach was not effective. Therefore, I am compelled to take public action to seek accountability and transparency.

On July 12, 2024, at 10 PM, I admitted Pixie to Cessna under Dr. Sachin’s care, paying ₹25,818 for her treatment. Just hours later, on July 13, 2024, I decided to withdraw her from further treatment and bring her home. I informed the hospital of this decision.

When I arrived to take Pixie home, Dr. Vathsala insisted on continuing treatment, relying on outdated records rather than a current assessment of Pixie’s condition. I told Dr. Sachin that if I didn’t receive a video of Pixie’s daily care within the next 30 minutes, I would take her home.

I requested a video update of Pixie’s condition, which the hospital promised but never provided. A few minutes later, I was informed that Pixie had passed away. The hospital claimed there was no time to record the video, raising serious doubts about their transparency. I believe the hospital may have withheld information to extract more money.

I’ve filed a complaint with the Animal Welfare Board of India and People For Animals, which has been forwarded to the Karnataka Animal Welfare Board. Despite promises from Dr. Pawan Kumar to Maneka Gandhi that I would receive video footage, but the hospital staff, including Harish Sharma, have continually delayed, offered excuses, and refused to provide it.

Why This Matters:

Pixie’s story is about more than just one pet. It’s about ensuring accountability in veterinary care to protect all pets and their owners from similar neglect and fraud. Pets are family, and they deserve the best care possible.

How You Can Help:

Please sign this petition to demand justice for Pixie and hold Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital accountable. Together, we can ensure that no other pet suffers the same fate.
