Petition updateProtect our pets: food regulations now!5 years since Mabel was diagnosed

Dear supporters,

This year, we are reminded of the devastating impact that tainted pet food has had on countless pets and their families. January 14th marked the fifth anniversary of losing our beloved Vincent to megaoesophagus, caused by contaminated dog food. And yesterday, March 10th, we mourned the fifth anniversary of Mabel's diagnosis with the same condition.

We cannot forget that March 24th marked five years since Advance Dermocare was recalled, and July 11th was the third anniversary of Mabel's passing. These dates serve as a painful reminder of the urgent need for stricter regulations on pet food in Australia.

We must not forget the progress that we have made. Five years ago, Senator Stirling Griff tabled our petition in parliament, and the Senate inquiry that followed on August 28th, 2023, was an important step towards change.

However, five years have passed, and we still do not have adequate regulations to protect our pets from harmful and deadly ingredients in their food. We call on the federal government to take action now.

We cannot let another year go by without change. We ask that whoever is responsible for regulating pet food in Australia takes this matter seriously and implements the necessary regulations to protect our furry friends.

Thank you for your continued support and ask that you share this petition. Together, we can protect our pets from harm.

Christine & Peter Fry
