Protect our Kids. Protect our Tax Dollars. Protect our 4,000 tree Forest.

Protect our Kids. Protect our Tax Dollars. Protect our 4,000 tree Forest.
The Issue
To Fayetteville City Leaders:
We, the undersigned, urge you to reject any and all proposed rezoning of forested land located along College Ave, currently held by Fayetteville Public Schools for the new Ramay Junior High School.
Why We Oppose Rezoning:
- Safety Risks
Steep hillside. One narrow road. Fire trucks can’t make the turn. In a fire or school shooting, students and staff are trapped. This plan doesn't just abandon safety -- it invites disaster. - Limited Walkability
Students can't walk safely to school. Kids north of Township or west of College Ave. will be forced to cross major roads or climb steep terrain, putting their lives at risk. - Taxpayer Burden
Steep land = steep costs. $130 MILLION DOLLAR price tag. Infrastructure, access, and risk mean millions more—out of your pocket. - Traffic Overload
More cars. More delays. More danger on College Ave, Township, Sycamore, Ash and in surrounding neighborhoods. - Hillside Hazards
This land has a history of instability and mudslides—endangering drivers, students, and school staff. - Irreplaceable Forest Loss
This isn’t just trees—it’s our shield against floods, heat, and ecosystem collapse. The plan to destroy over 3,000 trees is reckless and irreversible. Once the forest is gone, it’s gone forever. - Existing Campus Works
Woodland Junior High is flat, functional, and fully equipped with athletic facilities. Why abandon a perfectly good campus?
We can meet our community’s needs without endangering our kids, wasting taxpayer dollars or destroying a vital forest. We call on you to:
Reject all rezoning requests for this property.
Protect our children. Protect our tax dollars. Protect our forest.
