Regardless of where you stand on gun control, this petition still makes sense. Our children are being murdered in their own schools and we are doing nothing to stop it.

Government buildings have protected and secure entry, but our schools do not. Why? Why are the lives of our children less important than those of our government officials?

Our children deserve to be safe while at school! And we deserve to be able to send them to school without feeling afraid for their lives. Every single school in the United States should have a security system, including but not limited to an armed guard at the main entrance, security cameras at every entrance, and all doors locked to the outside at all times. This is the absolute minimum we could and should be doing for our children.

If we can secure our government buildings, then public schools should be secured as well.

We should also install locking mechanisms on every classroom door in the event an armed assailant still gains entry to the building.

Demand safety for our children NOW!!! This can and should be a top priority for our government officials, but we must be loud enough to make them hear us! Please sign and share!
