Nothing less than a permanent ban on the cutting down of baobab and kapok trees is acceptable to the hundreds of families who depend on these trees that were planted by our forefathers! It is their inheritance!!

Furthermore, holding the trees while they "investigate mutual benefits" is equally ridiculous! Has anyone bothered to think that the trees are dying while they politick and "extract" their "mutual benefits"? The fact that these Baobab trees take 15 to 25 years to produce their first super fruits and their leaves and bark are medicinal, they are also deciduous and centuries old! This gives them the unique ability to sequester more carbon than most trees which is crucial in fighting climate change. How can this government speak of planting trees to battle climate change while negotiating to uproot sacred trees that are centuries old?? Why are cedar, ebony, and mahogany trees protected yet they don't even produce superfruits?? Please be serious!!
