While the uprooted trees continue to wait on trucks to be exported the CS of Environment and Forestry seeks "adequate authorisation and an equitable benefit-sharing formula..." as instructed by President Ruto. What "benefit-sharing formula" can there be in the exploitation and exportation of our coastal heritage?? Instead of exporting these trees for pennies, why not invest in the ancient practices and benefits of the tree for the communities around them to be economically empowered?? 

Please respect and honour the wisdom and foresight of our ancestors who planted these trees for their progeny, by protecting our trees and placing a permanent ban on any uprooting or cutting down.
