Despite repeated efforts to address Del Grande's public comments in front of the public, trustees pushed last night's discussion into private.

After about two hours in a private meeting, trustees returned into public and passed the following motion: “Pursuant to obligations to investigate trustee code of conduct complaints, the board has directed staff to hire an independent investigator.” They did not specify whose conduct, or what specifically, the investigator would be looking into. They did not provide the public with timelines or objective, leaving us with more questions than answers.

Since the board has been unable to handle the code of conduct complaints on their own, we are calling for oversight from the Ontario Ministry of Education, in addition to a criminal investigation into Del Grande's ongoing (and unchecked) public incitement of hate.
