I was informed by district staff that there is a science teacher position posted on Ed Join - below was the response from HR.

Our system is very broken if students are several weeks behind due to this delay.

I will follow up with UTP to confirm what is stated below.

Response from HR: "Currently, OEB has one single subject credentialed science teacher, with a second single subject science teacher approved for hire. It is posted on Edjoin; recruitment was delayed due to HR’s statutory requirement to offer the position to single subject science credentialed teachers on the 39 month rehire/layoff list. The laid off teacher was unresponsive to multiple attempts to contact him, and recruitment for the position could not commence until this process was completed."
