Thank you all for your continued support. Every signature, comment, and shared post reinforces a clear message: Nova Scotians value a fair, transparent, and sustainable hauling system that respects both the law and the people who keep this industry moving.

Our goal remains simple and fully aligned with provincial procurement legislation and trade obligations: to encourage the Province to work collaboratively with industry stakeholders to develop a Sustainable Hauling Framework.

Such a framework would:

 • Support local independent drivers and small businesses

 • Ensure fair and predictable access to work

 • Promote safety, accountability, and industry standards

 • Strengthen climate-friendly and efficient hauling practices

 • Provide clarity and consistency for contractors, counties, and operators

 • Reflect the principles of fairness, openness, and transparency that guide all public procurement in Nova Scotia

 • Support the broader local economy — including but certainly not limited to  — the heavy-duty mechanics, welders, automotive shops, service providers, admin staff, and local food establishments that depend on a stable trucking season and the drivers who keep them busy.

This effort is not about excluding anyone — it’s about building a system that works for everyone and keeps our rural communities strong and moving forward. The people who live here, work here, raise families here, and invest in their equipment and safety deserve a system that recognizes their important role in maintaining our roads, infrastructure, supply chains and our economy.

A strong, fair, and sustainable hauling framework doesn’t just support drivers — it supports the entire ecosystem of small businesses that keep this industry safe and running smoothly.

We remain hopeful that the government will be open to co-developing a framework that is responsible, compliant, and sustainable for the long term.

Thank you again for standing together and for continuing to support this effort. Your voices matter — and together, we can build a better system for everyone.
