Community spaces aren't only about having a building available.

They're about continuity, familiarity, belonging and knowing that something you value will still be there.

That matters particularly when change elsewhere in life is already taking up a lot of processing capacity.

It's one of the reasons I still care about protecting accessible community spaces. Losing somewhere isn't necessarily just losing a venue — sometimes it's losing part of the structure people build their lives around.
