Community spaces aren't simply buildings

They can be somewhere to belong, meet people, learn something, find support, enjoy an interest, build confidence or just spend time somewhere you feel welcome.

For people who can find other parts of society difficult to access, that can matter even more.

That's why I keep speaking up for community spaces. Once these places disappear, recreating the connection and support that grew around them isn't as simple as finding another building.
