The Bill that closely links to our community-spaces campaign is now heading into the House of Lords on 8 December. This is a major step because it means the ideas we’ve been fighting for are being examined at the highest level.

Although my petition isn’t named inside the Bill, the topic — protecting and empowering community spaces — is exactly what thousands of us have raised together. The fact it’s reached this stage shows that our collective voices have been heard and are shaping the national conversation.

Next steps to look out for:

The Lords will debate and examine the Bill.

If they agree, it goes back to the Commons for final checks.

After that — the big moment — Royal Assent.

This is when the legislation officially becomes law.
