A quick update on where things stand. The petition has reached a quieter moment, which is normal for this stage, but something important is happening nationally.
The English Devolution & Community Empowerment Bill—which strongly connects to everything this petition has raised—has now completed its stages in the House of Commons. It moves to the House of Lords on 8 December.
This Bill focuses on giving communities more say over what happens to buildings, services and local hubs — the same issues raised when No Limits closed 8 months ago.
While there’s a pause in visible petition activity, the conversation around community spaces is continuing at a national level. This means the petition remains relevant, active and important. We’re close to 780 signatures, and every little push helps.
