As individuals deeply devoted to the welfare of wildlife, we are rallying to prevent the forced removal of Nibi, a now-domesticated beaver, from the care of the well-respected and crucial Newhouse Wildlife in Chelmsford.

Nibi was raised under human care and forcing her into the wild could put her at serious risk, a risk we consider not only unnecessary, but also potentially disastrous. (Previously quoted Defenders of Wildlife quote under review. Quote was a result of AI search. An update will be provided if one is available. In communication with Defenders of Wildlife)

We firmly believe, that by granting Nibi an educational license, she could serve as an ambassador for her species and future generations, while remaining safely under the care she is used to. Newhouse Wildlife has always been an important part of our community, playing a vital role in our understanding and appreciation for wildlife. The forced removal of Nibi is not only a risk to her personally, but also a serious setback for our community's engagement with wildlife.

Please join us in urging Mass Wildlife, by sending an email to mass.wildlife@mass.gov, to reconsider their decision and let Nibi remain where she belongs. Sign this petition and lift your voice in support of Nibi, in support of Newhouse Wildlife, and in support of our community's mission to foster a deeper understanding of the wildlife with which we share our world.
