STATEMENT ABOUT LHPP LHPP Update: We're Moving Forward Together!

Statement from Commissioner Dunn: Last night, the Commission voted 3-1 to separate LHPP from the City. But let's be clear:
LHPP is not stopping.
In 2024, I asked the City to establish LHPP as a 501(c)(3) so we could pursue larger grants for Lauderhill. That resolution was about building capacity — not cutting LHPP away from the City. Sadly, it's now being used as an excuse to take control of an initiative my colleagues did not build and grant funds they did not secure.
But here's what matters most: our impact belongs to the community.
• 150+ small businesses graduated through Lauderhill Shines
• 1,000+ residents and youth engaged through Peace365
• Nearly $1 million in outside grants secured for Lauderhill, PLUS the 3.8 million COVID
Health Literacy grant. All secured in the city's name because of LHPP
LHPP is a community-driven movement, and our vision hasn't changed:
• A safe, healthy, and prosperous Lauderhill where families and businesses thrive.
• Join us for our next community meeting:
• Wednesday, September 18th | © 6:00 PM
City of Grace Florida, 4412 N University Dr, Lauderhill, FL 33351
Together, we will keep moving forward - because Lauderhill's future belongs to the people.
