Thank you so much to everyone who has signed, shared and supported the petition so far. We’ve now reached more than 290 signatures, which is a brilliant response from the local community.

Since our last update, we’ve had some really good news.

The council has confirmed that the small pond will now be retained, rather than converted into a wetland drainage system. They have also confirmed that if funding is secured for the next stage of development, originally expected in the autumn, it will be opened up to consultation before any designs or changes are finalised.

This is fantastic news.

We’re really grateful that the council has listened on the small pond, and we hope this signals a wider willingness to take residents’ concerns seriously as the next stages of the project develop.

We’ve also now received a response to our Freedom of Information request about the consultation process and how the current plans were developed. You can view the response here:

The response includes a lot of information, so it will take us a few days to go through it properly. Once we’ve had time to review it, we’ll share a fuller update on what it tells us.

For now, thank you again. The petition is already making a difference.
