Protect Lake Worth Beach Single Family Neighborhoods From ADU'S and Rezoning

The Issue

The proposed ADU ordinance, allowing Accessory Dwelling Units (rental units) on every residential lot would effectively change the zoning of all single family residential (SFR) neighborhoods to multi family residential in Lake Worth Beach.

This would double or triple the number of homes, people, cars lining the streets, garbage and crime in every existing single family neighborhood. The enormous increase in home density would have a devastating effect on the community, environment, aesthetics and property values of our existing Lake Worth Beach single family homes.

The proposed ADU law places the interest of speculative developers above the concerns and property rights of current homeowners and residents. Sober homes and Airbnb's would proliferate. Any reasonable person knows that Lake Worth Beach has no available mass transit, shopping within walking distance and no resources or infrastructure to support this tremendous population increase. Who will end up paying for all these needed improvements?

The Lake Worth Beach City Commission wants to rezone 70% of our city with their five member vote. Residents in places like Boca or Wellington would never tolerate this, so why should we?  A massive zoning change like this should only be decided by Lake Worth Beach residents.

If you like Lake Worth Beach single family residential (SFR) zoned the way it is and want it to stay that way, please sign this petition to let our publicly elected City Commission members know!
