We’re closer than we’ve ever been!
New York is closer than it’s ever been to becoming a state that protects children, not the people who rape them. With Senator Flanagan no longer in charge, and Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, a long-time supporter of the bill, leading the charge we may see movement this month. This may become the year where New York fixes its archaic statute of limitations on child sexual abuse.
But, opponents of the bill are coming out harder than ever before. We’ve been very close before and been defeated. Let’s keep that from happening again.
Please, raise your voices to protect children. Share this petition with family, friends and social media contacts. And please call or email your New York State Senator and Assemblymember and let them know how important this bill is to you. If you don’t know who represents you in Albany, that’s OK- find out at www.votesmart.org
Thank you so much for caring about children. Actions speak louder than words, and we need our demands to ring loud and clear now.
PS- Please, take a few more minutes to sign this petition telling our leaders to invest in child abuse prevention, rather than hoping CPS will be able to fix broken children.
